DSP: Non-equipment cost sharing is a form of cost sharing in which the University bears some of the non-personnel costs of a project, such as supplies or travel. At the University of Iowa, the Office of the Vice President for Research and External Relations maintains a small fund that may be used for non-equipment cost sharing costs if the sponsor requires or "strongly encourages" non-equipment cost sharing.
