OSP: MTDC means all direct salaries and wages, applicable fringe benefits, materials and supplies, services, travel, and subawards up to the first $25,000 of each subaward (regardless of the period of performance of the subawards and subcontracts under the award). MTDC excludes equipment, capital expenditures, charges for patient care, rental costs, tuition remission, scholarships and fellowships, participant support costs and the portion of each subaward in excess of $25,000.)

Umich: Modified Total Direct Costs. The basis on which most U-M indirect costs are calculated (calculated as total costs minus equipment, tuition, patient care costs, and the portion of a sub-contract in excess of $25,000). 

Utah: Basic indirect costs are calculated on a subset of direct costs, normally excluding among other costs, equipment, patient care, space rental, alterations and renovations, and subcontract costs in excess of the first $25,000.

PVAMU: At PVAMU, the basic indirect costs are calculated on a subset of direct costs, normally excluding among other costs, equipment, patient care, space rental, alterations and renovations, and subcontract costs in excess of the first $25,000.

PSU: Facilities and Administration costs are calculated on MTDC, which is total direct costs minus tuition, equipment, and subcontract costs in excess of the first $25,000.
