PVAMU: All utility patents that issue from patent applications are subject to the payment of maintenance fees which must be paid to each country’s patent office to maintain the patent in force in that particular country. The due date for these fees differ depending on the country. Failure to pay the current maintenance fee on time may result in expiration of the patent.
