NIH: A NIH staff member who oversees the business and other non-programmatic aspects of one or more grants and/or cooperative agreements. These activities include, but are not limited to, evaluating grant applications for administrative content and compliance with statutes, regulations, and guidelines; negotiating grants; providing consultation and technical assistance to grantees; and administering grants after award.

NHLBI: staff members who are the focal point for all business and policy activities associated with the negotiation, award and administration of a grant or cooperative agreement, and who interpret and apply grants policies.

UAB: A NIH staff member who oversees the business and other non-programmatic aspects of one or more grants and/or cooperative agreements. These activities include, but are not limited to, evaluating grant applications for administrative content and compliance with statutes, regulations, and guidelines; negotiating grants; providing consultation and technical assistance to grantees; and administering grants after award.

Ucsf: The GMS works with the Grants Management Officer (GMO) on the day-to-day management of the grant. The name and contact information of the GMS assigned to a particular grant appears on the NoA.  UCSF sends prior request to the GMS for review and approval.
