DSP: Also referred to as Non-Disclosure Agreements, confidential disclosure agreements are executed whenever confidential information is disclosed, received, or exchanged by or within the University of Iowa. The purpose of the agreement is to protect the disclosing party’s information from being disclosed to third parties without the knowledge or prior approval of the disclosing party. CDA’s are commonly used to protect proprietary information on industrial technology or products; intellectual property; or unpublished research advances so that information can be exchanged during the development of industrial sponsored agreements with the UI. More information regarding CDAs.

Ucsf: A legal contract between the university and an external party detailing each party’s obligation in regard to confidential materials or knowledge each wishes to share with one another for certain purposes, but wish to restrict from generalized use. Stand-alone CDA/NDA agreements are not accounted for in RAS.
