The IPCC is a scientific, transnational body that was established by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). IPCC is charged with serving as an objective source of information about climate change, for political decision-makers, and for institutions that study and seek to address climate change. The IPCC does not carry out any research of its own, Instead, it compiles and assesses the current scientific, technical and socio-economic literature relative to climate change that is published worldwide.
